How has your education at CatholicU impacted your career?

Gabriel started at CatholicU in 2021. He's a hard working student, which, along with his degree in mathematics has afforded him several enriching internship and research opportunities. Between sophomore and junior year, he accepted a summer internship at The Heritage Foundation as a customer solutions engineer in their IT department. More recent appointment have included IT portfolio analyst at The Knights of Columbus life insurance company, data consultant and liaison in CatholicU's Office of Campus Ministry and perhaps most excitingly, a research assistantship in the School of Engineering's Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering to explore and develop AI models for financial analysis and natural language processing with the use of deep learning and optimization. Gabriel will soon be starting another internship at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD, as a Installations and Logistics intern, where he hopes to continue honing his mathematics and data science skills. Afterward, he will be returning to CatholicU for his M.S. in Mathematics.

A quote from Gabriel: "Dr. Bhutani, the Math Department Chair, is always telling us students, 'If you can do math, you can do anything!' I didn't realize the profound truth of this statement, until I landed an internship at the National Security Agency, arguably the most prestigious and rigorous mathematics research institution in the World. I'm awestruck and grateful to the department for the opportunity to say that I wouldn't have the job I have now (NSA) without my B.A. or M.S. degrees from CatholicU. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"
