    4+1 BA/MS or BS/MS in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers an accelerated MS degree for strong, motivated undergraduate students to earn both a bachelor of arts (BA) or of science (BS) and a master's of science degree in mathematics within five years.  The student will complete four years for the bachelor's degree (4) plus one additional year for the master's degree (+1).  Mathematics majors in their junior or senior year may take approved graduate-level classes up to a maximum of four courses that may be double-counted for both the bachelor's and graduate degree requirements.  As with the traditional MS program, students choose one of two tracks, each with a thesis option.
